Join us for the premiere hydro-environment research summit in Eastern Canada...
The IAHR Eastern Canada YPN is hosting a hybrid research seminar event inviting graduate students across the region to share about their research groups’ ongoing projects in hydro-environment disciplines. This initiative is a first-of-its-kind summit for IAHR’s first ever Canadian young professionals network. The primary goal of the project is to provide a networking platform for participating researchers for future collaboration.
The event
Our first ever research showcase; a summit of graduate students from research groups in Eastern Canada in the hydro-environment domains.
The presentations
Delegates will prepare and deliver a 12-minute slide deck overview of their research group's active projects, followed by 3-minute Q&A from fellow attendees.
The venue
This event is being offered in a hybrid format; join either in-person at the University of Waterloo campus (room E2-2350) or online via video conference.

What is the format of the presentations?
Presentations should be an overview of your research group’s active projects or major research interests. This is not a technical research conference presentation (you will not be presenting on the typical methods, results, analysis, and conclusions). Think of this as an opportunity to celebrate the type of work your group is proud of!
Presentations will be 12 minutes in length, followed by 3 minutes of Q&A from fellow attendees.
Should the presentation resemble a typical conference talk?

Can more than one person present on behalf of a research group?
Yes! Please indicate that you will have multiple presenters on the registration form when prompted.
Do I have to attend in-person in order to present?
No! You are welcome to deliver your presentation remotely if you are registering for the showcase as an online attendee.
Will food be provided?
There will be a catered networking dinner for participants attending in-person.
What is the dress code?
We encourage attendees to dress professionally, yet comfortably. The event style is not a formal conference, but delegates may wish to join the event in their networking-comfortable attire.
What is the schedule of events?
The event starts at 4:00 PM Eastern with a brief introduction of IAHR, followed by presentations until 6:30 PM Eastern. If you are attending in-person, dinner will be served immediately after the presentations.
